DCI Arrest Murang’a Female MCA Linked to MP George Koimburi’s Alleged Abduction

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Murang’a County MCA Grace Nduta Wairimu has been arrested in connection with what detectives now believe was a staged abduction of Juja MP George Koimburi, raising fresh questions over the lawmaker’s recent disappearance that triggered a flurry of speculation online.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed on Thursday evening that Nduta, the Member of County Assembly for Kanyenya-ini Ward, was apprehended on May 29 and is now in custody as part of ongoing investigations into the bizarre incident.

Koimburi had initially been reported missing on May 25, prompting public concern and online outrage.

However, according to the DCI, surveillance footage and other evidence place both him and Nduta together at the Ellis Bar and Restaurant in Kiganjo, Gatundu South—throughout the very night he was said to have vanished.

“Despite her claims of being in Kangema for church services and political rallies, evidence clearly shows that she was with Hon. George Koimburi the entire night,” said the DCI in a statement.

The development casts doubt over Koimburi’s own version of events and suggests a possible orchestration involving multiple individuals.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, Nduta’s arrest follows mounting evidence that contradicts the pair’s public accounts.

Nduta’s arrest brings the number of suspects detained in connection to the case to four.

Investigators have moved to court seeking to detain the group for 15 more days as they piece together the full scope of what they are calling a “stage-managed abduction.”
