Lights Out! Scheduled Power Interruptions Across Multiple Towns

NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in several towns on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The outages will allow for system maintenance to improve service reliability.

Narok

Power will be interrupted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in areas including Narok County Referral Hospital, Narok County Offices, Narok Water, Lenana East, Narok Prison, Polytechnic, and Naivas Supermarket.

Kisumu

Residents should expect outages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Katito, Sondu, Ahero, Kochogo, Nyakwere, Nyamarimba, Kanyamlori, Kolweny, and surrounding areas.

Murang’a and Kiambu

Ndula, Kilimambogo, Magogoni, Kenchic, and Makutano will experience power interruptions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Areas affected include Kiboko Farm, Jawabu Quarry, Helena Quarry, Delmonte, Rubiru, Fourteen Falls Market, Dimken Farm, Duka Moja, Ngoliba Market, Ngoliba Secondary, NYS, Kithimani Market, Kabaa Market, Wings Quarry, Valem Quarry, Rubiru, Macvast Market, Kwa Jimmy Market, Chui Rapids, and Kahonoki.

Other affected locations include Nginyi Pumps, Twin River East, Gwa Kameme, Bishop Gitonga, Kinyangi Dispensary, Junction, Kaguku, Kaumoni, Makutano, Kikule, Makuti, Milaani, Kahuruko, Grellia, Ithanga, Manyatta, and Gathukini.

Mombasa

Power outages will occur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting Miritini East, Miritini Catholic, St. Elizabeth, and Miritini Guest House.

Kilifi

In Mtwapa, power will be off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in areas including Mtwapa Police Station, Abems Multicare, Supa Loaf Mtwapa, Fayaz Mtwapa, Mtwapa Catholic, Moorings, Aloo Drive, Mtomondoni Secondary, and Mtwapa Mall.

Kwale

Kwale Town, Tiribe, and Kinango will face power interruptions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kirinyaga

Kerugoya, Kagio, Kutus, and Wang’uru will also be affected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Areas impacted include Manjengo, PIAI, Estana Hotel, PK Njuguna, Rogoi Market, Rogoi ACK, Mugamba Ciura, Murinduko Secondary School, Togonye Market, St. Susan, Kariati, Kadawa, Gold, Mumbu Market, Itangi, South Ngariama, Ikurungu Market, Ikurungu Hospital, Morgan, Skai Sana, and Gathigiini Primary.

Nyeri

Endarasha, Watuka, and Embaringo will experience power outages from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Areas affected include Charity, Kimunyuru, Gakanga, Gitegi, and adjacent locations.
