President Ruto Marks Two Years in Office with Major Achievements in MSME Sector

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – As President William Ruto marks his second year in office today, his administration has recorded significant progress in empowering Kenya’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) despite facing various challenges.

One of the government’s most notable achievements is the refurbishment and equipping of 21 county industrial development centers between 2022 and 2024.

These centers have been critical in boosting key sectors, including the leather value chains in Suneka, Isiolo South, Malindi, Runyenjes, and Banisa.

Additionally, textile value chains in Mwea, Kitale, Olkalau, and Embakasi North have seen considerable advancements under these initiatives.

In a move to further strengthen the MSME ecosystem, the government has also initiated the construction of 19 county aggregation industrial parks nationwide.

These parks aim to streamline production, aggregation, and marketing for local enterprises, helping them scale and compete in larger markets.

President Ruto’s administration has also made strides in financial inclusion through the Hustler Fund, disbursing KSh 54.9 billion to over 21.87 million individuals.

This initiative has not only provided vital capital to small businesses but has also encouraged a savings culture, with KSh 3.1 billion saved by beneficiaries.
