Media personality and digital creator Ciru Muriuki is returning to podcasting with the revival of The Undiscovered Podcast, marking a new chapter more than a year after the death of her fiancé, celebrated actor and director Charles “Charlie” Ouda.
The second season of the podcast, which the couple launched together in 2023, is set to premiere this week, with Ciru describing the journey back to the microphone as both challenging and deeply meaningful.
Speaking on the Mic Cheque Podcast, Ciru revealed that she finally feels ready to resume the project she and Charlie built together before his untimely death in February 2024.
She admitted that recording a new season without her longtime creative partner has been one of the hardest decisions she has had to make but said she remained committed to continuing the vision they shared.
Originally launched in mid-2023, The Undiscovered Podcast was created as a platform to celebrate overlooked African creatives, musicians, storytellers and artists, giving them space to share their journeys and amplify voices that often receive little mainstream attention.
She confirmed the podcast’s return through social media, announcing that the first episode of Season Two will premiere on Thursday.
“Our first episode of Season 2 goes live this Thursday!” she shared.
For the season opener, Ciru shifts the conversation toward one of Kenya’s most influential cultural and civic movements by featuring journalist and activist Allan Ademba alongside the Gen Z Baddies.
The premiere episode explores youth activism, civic responsibility and the growing influence of Kenya’s Gen Z generation in shaping national conversations.
Allan Ademba has emerged as one of the movement’s most recognizable advocates, helping mobilize thousands of young people through digital campaigns and grassroots civic engagement.
Following Charlie Ouda’s death in February 2024, she largely stepped away from public-facing creative projects as she navigated grief.
Charlie, an award-winning actor, filmmaker and producer, was widely respected within Kenya’s entertainment industry for his work on stage and screen and for championing African storytelling.
Together, he and Ciru built The Undiscovered Podcast as a passion project rooted in curiosity, creativity and meaningful conversations.
