NAIROBI, Kenya – Jordyn Woods and her husband, NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns, chose East Africa for their honeymoon, travelling across Nairobi, Tanzania and Zanzibar weeks after their star-studded wedding in Malibu, California.
Woods revealed the couple’s honeymoon destinations in an Instagram post featuring a montage of their safari and travel experiences.
The model and entrepreneur shared footage of wildlife, scenic landscapes and moments with Towns as they explored the region, giving her followers a glimpse into the couple’s first major trip as husband and wife.
Woods described the experience as one she had struggled to put into words.
“A dream I didn’t know how to put into words, lived out in the wild with the love of my life. Africa, you were beyond anything I could have imagined. Our honeymoon felt like walking through a dream I never wanted to wake up from.”
She then revealed the destinations that made up their trip.
“Yes I said Africa! But we were in Nairobi, Tanzania and Zanzibar!! Absolutely loved them all🤍🤍🤍🤍”
Nairobi was one of the destinations Woods and Towns visited during their honeymoon.
The couple’s safari footage showed them experiencing the region’s natural surroundings and wildlife, giving their honeymoon an adventurous dimension beyond a traditional luxury holiday.The Kenyan stop also formed part of a wider East African itinerary that allowed the couple to experience several destinations.
The newlyweds continued their journey into Tanzania, where they explored the country’s famous wildlife and expansive landscapes. The footage Woods shared showed the couple enjoying the outdoors and taking in the wildlife during their time on the mainland.
The Tanzania leg complemented their Kenyan experience by giving them another opportunity to explore East Africa’s safari landscape.
After their safari experiences, Woods and Towns travelled to Zanzibar, giving their honeymoon a more relaxed coastal ending. The Tanzanian archipelago is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise Indian Ocean waters and luxury resorts.
Zanzibar has long been a popular destination for couples seeking a combination of beach relaxation, culture and adventure.
Woods’ montage captured different moments from the trip, with the overall video presenting the honeymoon as a combination of adventure and relaxation.
The East African trip came shortly after Woods and Towns exchanged vows at a private oceanfront estate in Malibu on August 15, 2026.
The couple married after several years together, having first met in Los Angeles in 2017 and becoming a couple in 2020. They initially became friends before their relationship turned romantic.
Their wedding brought together family, friends, Hollywood personalities and NBA stars. Among those attending were Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Justin and Hailey Bieber and several of Towns’ Knicks teammates.
Woods wore custom Danielle Frankel designs during the wedding celebrations, while Towns wore Ralph Lauren. The couple also incorporated personal touches into the celebration, including Tiffany & Co. wedding bands and private written vows.
The wedding followed Towns’ historic 2026 NBA season, during which he helped the New York Knicks win the NBA championship. Towns is a six-time All-Star, three-time All-NBA selection and 2026 NBA champion.
The honeymoon marks another major milestone for Woods and Towns after a year filled with professional and personal achievements.
For Towns, the year brought his first NBA championship with the Knicks.
