NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has expressed his support for the highly anticipated boxing clash between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer, wishing both fighters the very best ahead of their showdown.
In a video, Ruto announced that he plans to reward each of the boxers with Sh1 million.
“I wish Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer all the best, and I will reward each of them with Sh1 million,” Ruto said in a video while speaking to Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’a.
The announcement comes after media personality Oga Obinna issued a stern warning to politicians ahead of the event.
He emphasized that the fight, featuring Majembe vs. Mbavu Destroyer, is strictly for fans and sports enthusiasts who have already bought the ticket insisting there will be no tickets sold at the gate.
“If you don’t have a ticket, don’t come. If you have not helped me during the planning of this match, don’t call me to secure a seat,” Obinna said, urging politicians to steer clear to ensure that the focus remains on the athletes and the competition.
He emphasized that any politician wishing to attend the match must have a valid ticket, including their accompanying security personnel.
The clash, set to take place at Kasarani Indoor Arena, has already captured the attention of boxing fans across the country.
