Netflix Puts Man Inside Sunset Boulevard Billboard to Promote The Last House

Netflix has turned one of Los Angeles’ most recognizable advertising spaces into an unlikely temporary home, placing an actor inside a fully furnished billboard high above Sunset Boulevard as part of an elaborate publicity stunt for its new sci-fi survival thriller, The Last House.

The unusual installation sits at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, where motorists and pedestrians have been able to watch an unidentified man carry out ordinary daily routines inside a room suspended about 30 feet above the street.

The stunt began on Thursday, August 6, 2026, and runs through Saturday, August 8, with the actor remaining inside the enclosure for the duration of the campaign.

Netflix transformed the billboard frame into a small, fully furnished studio apartment designed to look like an actual living space.

The elevated room features bookshelves, a globe, thick curtains and other household furnishings. The enclosure also has air conditioning, allowing the performer to remain inside despite Los Angeles’ summer temperatures.

From the street below, the structure resembles an ordinary home rather than a conventional advertising billboard.

The actor has used the space to perform everyday activities, creating the impression that someone has inexplicably taken up residence inside the advertising structure.

Videos and photographs from the stunt show him wearing a robe, brushing his teeth and eating cereal as people watch from the streets below.

The setup deliberately blurs the line between an advertisement and a real-life scene, encouraging passersby to stop and figure out what is happening above them.

The performer has also interacted with people on Sunset Boulevard throughout the stunt.

Instead of speaking directly to the crowds below, he uses a handheld whiteboard to write messages that people can read from the street.

The unusual communication method adds another layer to the performance, making the actor appear like someone who has become confined to the elevated apartment and can only communicate with the outside world from inside.

The campaign has consequently attracted attention from pedestrians, motorists and people documenting the spectacle on social media.

The actor has also spent time reading, playing cards and looking through binoculars while inside the temporary apartment.

Netflix designed the stunt around the central premise of The Last House, a sci-fi survival thriller starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura.

The film follows a family that becomes inexplicably sealed inside its home while an unknown threat exists outside. The billboard installation takes that fictional premise and recreates part of it in the real world.

The billboard carries the ominous question, “How long can you survive?”, reinforcing the connection between the stunt and the film.

Sunset Boulevard is one of Los Angeles’ most recognizable streets and runs through the heart of the entertainment industry.
