US Navy Warships Survive Iran Missile Attack

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that American naval forces successfully defended warships transiting the Strait of Hormuz after coming under multiple Iranian attacks.

In a statement released from Tampa, Florida, CENTCOM said Iranian forces launched missiles, drones, and deployed small boats targeting three U.S. Navy destroyers, USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87), as they moved through the strategic waterway into the Gulf of Oman.

The U.S. military said all incoming threats were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets, and no American vessel was hit during the incident.

According to CENTCOM, the forces acted in self-defense and responded with targeted strikes against Iranian military assets believed to be responsible for the attacks, including missile and drone launch sites, command-and-control facilities, and surveillance nodes.

The command further stated that while the United States does not seek escalation, it remains fully prepared to protect its personnel and maintain freedom of navigation in international waters.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, has remained a flashpoint for tensions between Washington and Tehran, with past incidents frequently raising fears of broader regional conflict.

CENTCOM reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe passage for commercial and military vessels despite ongoing hostilities in the area.
