Five Killed as Matatu Crashes Into Broken-Down Truck on Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Date:

NAKURU, Kenya- Five people have been killed after an 11-seater Toyota matatu crashed into a broken-down truck along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The crash occurred at Twin Bridge, where the matatu collided with the stationary truck.

Traffic police officers were deployed to the scene to assess the wreckage and facilitate the response to the crash.

The incident adds to a series of fatal crashes reported along the Nakuru-Eldoret corridor, one of Kenya’s major transport routes connecting the Rift Valley with western Kenya and neighbouring countries.

Authorities have urged motorists using the highway to exercise caution, particularly around stationary or disabled vehicles.

Police investigations are expected to establish the circumstances that led to the collision.
