KDF Officer Arrested for Allegedly Defiling Minor Inside Nanyuki Barracks

NANYUKI, Kenya – A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer based at the 10 Engineers Barracks in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, has been arrested for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl.

According to a police report, the officer, attached to the 10 Engineers Battalion, is accused of committing the offense within the barracks, which serves as the headquarters of the Kenya Army’s Corps of Engineers.

The suspect was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the child’s guardians.

He is currently being held at the Nanyuki Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court today.

Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances under which the alleged incident occurred.

The Kenya Defence Forces and police authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
