NAIROBI, Kenya- Rising insecurity in Nairobi and other parts of the country has once again come into focus after CCTV footage captured a shopkeeper in South C confronting two suspected robbers in the early hours of Sunday.
The footage shows two hooded young men entering the shop while armed with what appeared to be a pistol. The suspects attempted to intimidate the shopkeeper, with one of them trying to strike him using the object.
However, the shopkeeper stood his ground and resisted the attack, forcing the two men to retreat. Moments later, they fled the premises without stealing anything.
The incident has sparked fresh concern among residents and business owners over increasing cases of crime, particularly in urban areas, where robberies targeting small businesses have been on the rise.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but the footage has been widely circulated, highlighting both the risks faced by traders and the growing reliance on CCTV surveillance in deterring crime.
