NAIROBI, Kenya- Political strategist Pauline Njoroge has explained that her decision to resign from the Jubilee Party was driven by a desire to fully dedicate herself to the Linda Mwananchi movement without dividing her attention between the two political formations.
Speaking on Monday, August 3, Njoroge said remaining in Jubilee while actively participating in Linda Mwananchi would have made it difficult to give either platform the commitment it deserved.
“I left Jubilee because I did not want my attention divided between Jubilee activities and Linda Mwananchi activities. I needed to dedicate myself fully to Linda Mwananchi,” she said.
Resignation Took Immediate Effect
Njoroge officially announced her resignation from the Jubilee Party on July 21, bringing to an end a political journey that spanned more than a decade.
In her resignation statement, she confirmed that she was stepping down both as a member of the party and from her position as Deputy Organizing Secretary on the National Executive Committee (NEC).
“I therefore wish to announce my resignation from the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Jubilee Party, where I have served as Deputy Organizing Secretary, and as a member of the Jubilee Party, effective today,” she wrote.
Fourteen-Year Political Journey
Reflecting on her political career, Njoroge recalled joining The National Alliance (TNA) in 2012 as Communications Manager before the party merged with the United Republican Party (URP) to form the Jubilee Party.
Over the years, she rose through the party ranks, eventually serving as Deputy Organizing Secretary.
She described the experience as one of personal and professional growth.
“Looking back, I do so with immense gratitude. For someone deeply passionate about politics and strategic communications, these fourteen years have been nothing short of transformational,” she said.
Tribute to Uhuru Kenyatta
Njoroge also paid tribute to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, thanking him for the opportunities and mentorship he offered throughout her political career.
She described the former Head of State as a mentor who entrusted her with significant responsibilities and contributed to her development as a political strategist.
“I am especially grateful to the Jubilee Party Leader, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, who has been more than a leader to me. He has been a mentor, a teacher and a political father. He believed in me, entrusted me with responsibility and invested in my growth,” she said.
Focus Shifts to Linda Mwananchi
Njoroge said she will now devote her full attention to the Linda Mwananchi movement, which she described as a platform committed to advancing constitutionalism, accountability, servant leadership and good governance.
According to her, the movement represents the aspirations of a new generation of Kenyans seeking political transformation.
“It is for this reason that I have made the difficult but deeply considered decision to dedicate myself fully to this cause. In doing so, I bring to a close a remarkable fourteen-year chapter in a party that has been my political home,” she said.
Her resignation comes amid ongoing political realignments as parties and political movements reposition themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
While she has ended her long association with Jubilee, Njoroge has maintained that her focus will now be on strengthening the Linda Mwananchi movement and advancing its governance agenda.
