KANSAS, United States- DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua has travelled to Kansas, marking the third state visited during his ongoing tour of the United States.
Gachagua arrived in Kansas after completing engagements with Kenyans living in Washington and Oregon states.
He began his tour in Spokane, Washington, before travelling to Portland, Oregon, where he attended meetings and religious services alongside his spouse, Reverend Dorcas Rigathi.
According to his published itinerary, Gachagua is scheduled to remain in Kansas between September 16 and September 24 for meetings with Kenyans living in the area.
The engagements form part of a 50-day tour during which the DCP leader is meeting members of the Kenyan diaspora and discussing political and economic developments at home.
During his previous stop in Portland, Gachagua addressed Kenyans at an interdenominational fellowship and reiterated his position on Kenya’s leadership and the 2027 General Election.
He has also used the visit to hold consultations with diaspora groups and appeal for their participation in the country’s political affairs.
After completing his Kansas programme, Gachagua is expected to travel to Dallas, Texas, for engagements scheduled between September 24 and October 1.
He will later proceed to Boston, Massachusetts, where he is scheduled to hold meetings from October 1 to October 9.
Gachagua left Kenya on August 26 for the extended visit. His team said the tour would include political, community and diaspora engagements in several American cities.
The former Deputy President has maintained that opposition leaders will agree on a single presidential candidate to challenge President William Ruto in the August 2027 election.
Gachagua leads the Democracy for the Citizens Party, which he launched in May 2025 following his removal from office in October 2024.
His visit to Kansas comes as political activity intensifies in Kenya ahead of the 2027 election, with opposition figures holding meetings locally and abroad.
The DCP leader is expected to return to Kenya after completing the final leg of his American tour.
