NAIROBI, Kenya- President William Ruto has opened the GSU Embakasi Healthcare Centre at the Social Health Authority Block in Embakasi, Nairobi.
The President inaugurated the facility during the 50th General Service Unit Recruits Passing-Out Parade at the National Police College, Embakasi “B” Campus.
The healthcare centre will provide medical services to GSU officers and their families, strengthening their access to healthcare.
Its opening formed part of activities accompanying the graduation of new GSU officers who completed their police training at the institution.
The passing-out parade marked the recruits’ formal entry into the National Police Service.
They underwent training in policing, physical fitness, discipline, public safety and human rights.
The new officers will be deployed to support security operations across the country.
GSU duties include maintaining public order, protecting strategic installations and responding to security emergencies.
Senior government and National Police Service officials attended the ceremony.
