NAIROBI, Kenya- Members of Parliament allied to Kenya’s Broad-Based Government are set to hold a three-day strategic retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County, beginning on Sunday, August 9, 2026, as they intensify preparations for the 2027 General Election.
According to sources familiar with the meeting, the retreat will focus on building political consensus within the Broad-Based Government, harmonising messaging and developing a unified campaign narrative aimed at securing President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027.
The meeting is expected to bring together lawmakers from the Kenya Kwanza coalition and its Broad-Based Government partners to discuss strategies for strengthening support at the grassroots, countering opposition campaigns and improving public communication on the government’s development agenda.
Leaders attending the retreat are also expected to review the implementation of key government programmes and identify achievements that will form the foundation of President Ruto’s re-election campaign.
A key agenda item will be crafting a common political message that coalition leaders and MPs can consistently communicate across the country as the 2027 election campaign gathers momentum.
The retreat comes at a time when political activity is intensifying, with both the government and opposition ramping up grassroots mobilisation and seeking to consolidate their support bases ahead of the next General Election.
Naivasha has become a preferred venue for high-level political and parliamentary strategy meetings, with previous retreats focusing on legislative priorities and government policy coordination.
