Two Youthful Protestors Shot In Nairobi As Thousands Protest

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Two protestors were Tuesday afternoon shot in Nairobi, during a massive protest against the Financial Bill 2024.

One was shot in the abdomen while another on the arm.

“They are all in a stable condition,” an official working for a rescue and emergency organisation told Y News.

The two were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Despite assurances from the Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki, police still went ahead and used excessive force to disperse the largely youthful, peaceful and unarmed protestors.

Human Rights Organizations have condemned the use of brutal force against peaceful protestors.

There has also been several cases of abductions by suspected police officers. Notable faces including doctors, lawyers and content creators have been the target.
