NAIROBI, Kenya- Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has wished Kenyans peace, joy and unity as the country marks the Christmas season, calling on citizens to uphold love, compassion and mutual respect for the good of the nation.

In his Christmas message issued on Thursday, the fourth President of the Republic of Kenya said the festive season should serve as a reminder of the shared values that bind the country together.

“As we mark this Christmas season, I extend my sincere wishes of peace, joy, and God’s blessings to you and your families,” Kenyatta said, adding that the season should inspire hope for a brighter future.

The former president also urged Kenyans travelling to various parts of the country to exercise caution on the roads, warning that no journey is worth a life.

“As many travel to be with loved ones, I urge all to exercise caution on our roads. Let us be patient, obey traffic rules, and remember that no journey is worth a life,” he said.

“I wish you a prosperous New Year 2026, filled with unity, peace, and mutual respect for the good of our beloved nation,” he said.
