NAIROBI, Kenya — Ol Kalou Member of Parliament-elect Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru (Sammy Kamau Ngotho) has expressed gratitude to voters after receiving his certificate of election, promising to serve all residents of the constituency regardless of their political affiliation.
In a statement posted on X shortly after being declared the winner, Ngotho described his election as both an honour and a responsibility to deliver on the expectations of the people of Ol Kalou.
“I am deeply humbled and honoured by the overwhelming trust and confidence that the people of Ol Kalou have bestowed upon me. Receiving this certificate of election is not just a personal milestone—it is a solemn responsibility to serve every resident with integrity, humility, and dedication.”
Credits God and Supporters
Ngotho began by thanking God for guiding him throughout the campaign.
“First and foremost, I thank God Almighty for His grace, protection, and faithfulness throughout this journey.”
He also acknowledged Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas Rigathi for their encouragement and support during the campaign.
The MP-elect further thanked the DCP leadership, including Secretary General Senator John (Kaba) Methu, Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia, elected leaders, campaign staff, volunteers, polling agents and supporters who helped secure the victory.
‘This Victory Belongs to All of Us’
Ngotho said the overwhelming mandate reflected the confidence that residents had placed in his leadership.
“To the great people of Ol Kalou, thank you for believing in our vision and giving us such an overwhelming mandate. This victory belongs to all of us.”
He added:
“The spirits of our forefathers are honored.”
Pledges Inclusive Leadership
The newly elected legislator extended an olive branch to supporters of his political opponents, promising to represent every resident equally.
“To those who supported other candidates, I extend my respect and assure you that I will serve everyone equally, regardless of political affiliation.”
He said the election period had come to an end and that his focus would now shift to development.
“The campaigns are over; now the work of transforming Ol Kalou begins.”
Ngotho concluded his message by invoking blessings upon Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County and Kenya.
“May God bless you all, bless Ol Kalou Constituency, and bless Kenya.”
The victory gives the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) its first seat in the National Assembly following a closely watched by-election that drew national political attention ahead of the 2027 General Election.
