The company, which was recently awarded the contract to provide UK visa services in 142 countries, will handle all visa applications on behalf of UK Visas and Immigration.
This move is part of a broader partnership between VFS Global and UK Visas and Immigration, which has been in place since 2003.
Under the new contract, VFS Global will manage UK visa services in 31 countries across Africa, including Kenya.
Alok Singhai, VFS Global’s Head for Sub-Saharan Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “We are excited to embark on this new journey with UK Visas and Immigration here in Kenya. We look forward to bringing travellers from Kenya our best-in-class services.”
Applicants visiting the centres will have access to a range of additional services aimed at simplifying the visa process.
These include document upload assistance, Prime Time submission for applications outside of regular business hours, SMS notifications, and a passport courier service for document return once a decision is made.
For those in Nairobi, VFS Global offers an On Demand Mobile Visa service, allowing applicants to submit their applications from their home, office, or any location of their choosing.
Additionally, the “Keep My Passport While Applying” option enables applicants to retain their passports after submitting their applications and biometrics, only resubmitting them when a visa decision has been made.
The company emphasized that these services, though designed to enhance comfort and convenience, are entirely optional and do not influence visa processing timelines or outcomes. All services can be pre-booked through the VFS Global website.
