NAIROBI, Kenya – Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna has definitively stated she is not considering remarriage following the death of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, citing the profound pain and raw grief of her loss.

During a heartfelt interview with her daughter Stephanie, she emphasized her total focus on God and healing.

The mother of three explained that the loss is too recent for her to even contemplate finding companionship again.

“Does mummy Kathy ever see herself dating again not to replace dad but just for companionship?” Stephanie asked.

In her response, Kathy noted that she has been receiving that question frequently.

“I’m so raw about losing my husband. So raw that it has never even crossed my mind. I’ll not say yes or no I’ll say I’m so sold out to God that He would have to really speak with a voice saying this is the way, walk in it. It’s so painful I can’t even imagine it,” she shared.

Bishop Allan Kiuna passed away on July 9, 2024, at a Nairobi hospital at age 57 after a long battle with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer.

Kathy previously revealed his diagnosis in 2019, and in 2022, he underwent intensive treatment in the USA, returning in 2023.

He had passionately announced his recovery to his Nairobi congregation on December 10, 2023, noting the treatment cost over Sh460 million.

The Kiunas, who founded JCC in 1999, grew it into a popular, high-profile ministry favored by city professionals, with members affectionately calling them ‘Daddy’ and ‘Mummy’.

Despite criticism regarding their affluent lifestyle and the preaching of prosperity theology, Bishop Kiuna maintained a firm stance, saying in a 2014 interview, “A tiger is not bothered about the opinion of the sheep.”

He added, “…You have to get to a place where you just keep doing what God has called you to do, and do it with all faithfulness, with all humility. But don’t ever be detoured by the words of the haters because people will always hate,”.

Following the passing of her husband, Kathy was appointed to lead the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) as Bishop.

She has been candid about her intense sorrow, even sharing moments of brokenness in church, yet she remains dedicated to leading the congregation.
