“Not Here to Make You Laugh”: Chebet Ronoh Reveals Toll of Content Creation

Trending

Digital creator Chebet Ronoh has addressed why stopped producing comedy content. The influencer revealed that viral fame caused severe mental health struggles, online harassment, and personal trauma.

Ronoh gained nationwide popularity at age 19 through high-energy comedic videos.

Her digital success led to a career as a morning radio presenter on NRG Radio. However, the rapid rise to fame exposed her to persistent public scrutiny, body-shaming, and cyberbullying.

The pressure to maintain her online persona triggered severe anxiety and panic attacks. This notably caused her to walk out of a live television interview on The Trend with Dr. King’ori.

Ronoh directly addressed followers who consistently pressure her to return to sketch comedy. She confirmed that she will not create humorous content strictly to please the public.

Despite her clear shift away from producing sketches, followers consistently flooded her comment sections, demanding a return to her old style of content.

Ronoh directly confronted this pressure, issuing a direct response to individuals who asked why she no longer created humorous videos.

Responding to fans, Ronoh stated:

“Oh, you mean the thing that caused me to be a target for bullying and abuse for years, which I’m still recovering from, and even in that I can’t have peace without being victim-blamed… Not here to make you happy or laugh.”

To protect her well-being, Ronoh detached from digital validation and transformed her personal lifestyle. She publicly documented her decision to quit alcohol to eliminate anxiety and blackouts. She also adopted a strict gym routine, achieving a highly publicized 35-kilogram weight loss.

She shifted her social media content away from comedy to focus strictly on wellness, mental health advocacy, and self-care.

Ronoh now treats her comedic era as a closed chapter. She has pivoted into the beauty industry by launching her own skincare brand, Kivana Care. Her current digital presence serves as a platform for business and holistic health rather than entertainment
