Former Machachari actor Brian Kabugi, popularly known as Real Bugi, has bid an emotional farewell to his mother, Lucy Njumbi Macharia, during a touching burial ceremony attended by family, friends, and loved ones.

The content creator paid his last respects to his beloved mother following her death after a prolonged illness, marking the end of a painful chapter for the family that had touched the hearts of many Kenyans.

Photos and videos from the burial captured an emotional Kabugi standing beside his mother’s casket as relatives and mourners gathered to celebrate her life through prayers, worship, and heartfelt tributes.

In his tribute, Kabugi expressed deep gratitude for the unconditional love, sacrifices, and guidance his mother gave him throughout his life. He described her as his greatest source of strength and promised to honour her memory by carrying forward the values she instilled in him.

“My heart is broken, but I find comfort in knowing you are no longer in pain. Thank you for loving me the way you did. I promise to make you proud and keep your legacy alive,” he shared.

The burial came weeks after the family made a public appeal for help in settling an outstanding Sh 3.8 million hospital bill that had accumulated during Lucy’s treatment. The appeal sparked an overwhelming response from fans, fellow entertainers, and well-wishers, who came together to help clear the bill and support the family through their difficult time.

Kabugi had publicly thanked everyone who contributed, saying their generosity lifted a huge burden off his family’s shoulders and allowed them to focus on giving his mother a dignified send-off.

The funeral was marked by emotional speeches from family members and close friends, who remembered Lucy Njumbi Macharia as a loving mother, a caring woman, and a pillar of strength whose kindness touched everyone around her.

“My mother may no longer be with me, but I still have my brothers, my family both from birth and the chosen, my community, my craft, my art, and myself. I don’t know what the rest of my life will look like without her, but I do know that, somehow, I’ll be okay,” he shared.

As he laid his mother to rest, Kabugi once again thanked supporters for standing with him through one of the most difficult moments of his life. Messages of condolence and encouragement continued to pour in across social media, with many praising the unity and compassion shown by Kenyans during the family’s time of grief.

The emotional farewell marked the final chapter in Lucy Njumbi Macharia’s journey, with her son promising that her love, lessons, and legacy will continue to guide him in the years ahead.
