PARIS, France — French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton has unveiled a bespoke trunk that will transport the FIFA World Cup trophy to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at the New York-New Jersey Stadium, continuing a partnership that has spanned more than a decade.
The handcrafted trunk features a striking gold “V” across its front, symbolising both “Victory” and “Vuitton.” It also incorporates the brand’s iconic monogram canvas and gold-plated brass corner protectors.
Inside, the case is lined with beige leather and includes a commemorative patch celebrating the partnership between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
Fifth Consecutive World Cup Trunk
The 2026 edition marks the fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has designed a custom-made trophy trunk.
The luxury brand previously created trunks for the tournaments held in 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022, making it a longstanding custodian of the world’s most prestigious football prize.
Commitment to Excellence
Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to excellence and the unifying power of sport.
“For over a decade, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have shared an unwavering commitment to excellence, bound by a shared belief in sport’s power to inspire and bring people together,” Beccari said in a statement.
Luxury Meets Global Sport
Louis Vuitton is among several luxury brands that have established a presence in major international sporting events through the design of trophies and ceremonial accessories.
The company also produces bespoke trophy trunks for Formula One under a long-term partnership covering Grand Prix events.
Similarly, Tiffany & Co. has crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, awarded annually to the winners of the Super Bowl, since the championship’s inaugural edition in 1967.
One of Football’s Most Recognisable Symbols
The FIFA World Cup trophy remains one of the most iconic symbols in global sport.
When not in use during tournaments, the trophy is housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, making its journey to the World Cup final a carefully managed ceremonial event.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will culminate with the trophy arriving in New York-New Jersey inside the specially designed Louis Vuitton trunk before being presented to the tournament champions.
