NTSA’s Role in Road Safety

Established under the NTSA Act No. 33 of 2012, the Authority plays a crucial role in regulating Kenya’s road transport sector.

Its mandate includes implementing transport policies, registering and licensing vehicles, certifying roadworthiness, and developing safety strategies aimed at reducing road accidents.

NTSA also works closely with stakeholders to promote public education, enhance enforcement, and ensure compliance with national transport laws.

“We are committed to making Kenyan roads safe for all users through effective regulation, enforcement, and public education,” NTSA says on its website.
