US-based Kenyan nurse and content creator Nurse Judy, whose real name is Judy Maina, has announced plans to relocate from the United States in order to reunite with her husband and children.

The popular TikTok creator shared the deeply decision through social media posts and videos, explaining that the emotional burden of separation from her loved ones has become overwhelming.

“Making a tough decision, but I’m moving back to Africa (Tanzania) to be a stay-at-home mom,” she wrote online.

“I will only come back to America when my fam gets visas. I’m emotionally and physically tired. I need my man physically with me.”

Nurse Judy has built a strong following online through content focused on nursing life, motherhood, relationships, and the realities of working in the US healthcare system as an African immigrant.

Over time, she became especially popular among Kenyan audiences for openly discussing both the opportunities and emotional struggles that come with relocating abroad.

In a video shared online, Nurse Judy admitted that loneliness and long-distance family life had significantly affected her emotionally.

“So I just go home, Tanzania, to my husband, and I can be a stay-at-home mom, and he will take care of me,” she said.

“That is what I have been thinking. Like I’m feeling already I’m so tired mentally, emotionally, being away from my family. It’s just that I’m tired.”

She explained that the decision had not been made impulsively and that she had been considering the move for a long time before finally speaking publicly about it.

“So this is what I planned even before this shoot,” she added. “I’ve been thinking it is the best thing to do.”

The content creator further revealed that she intends to initially take a six-month break as she transitions into her new life in Tanzania.

“I need a break and I need a long break,” she said. “So I’ll just take six months first, go home, and I’ll just take six months first, and then I go home.”

According to Nurse Judy, the relocation will allow her to prioritize motherhood, marriage, emotional wellbeing, and physical presence within her family after spending long periods separated by distance.

Her husband and children currently reside in Tanzania.
