Controversial Kenyan preacher Victor Kanyari has sparked widespread online conversation after sharing an emotional message directed at his daughter, Sky, while comparing some of her behavior to that of his late sister, Scarlet Wahu.

In a deeply personal statement that has since circulated widely on social media, Kanyari addressed his daughter directly, expressing fears that some of her actions were beginning to mirror habits he previously observed in his late sister before her untimely death.

Speaking candidly, the preacher recalled a recent conversation he had with Sky, where he urged her to change certain behaviors out of concern for her future and wellbeing.

“Juzi nilikuwa nambia Sky wangu, tabia zako hazina tofauti na my sister. Please change. Please, my daughter. I don’t want to lose you at a tender age. Nataka kukuona forever katika maisha yako,” Kanyari said.

The pastor went on to stress that his concerns come from a place of genuine parental love, insisting that everything he does is centered around securing a better future for his daughter.

“Nataka kukuona. Na mimi ndio nilikuzaa. Siwezi kutakia mabaya,” he added.

Kanyari explained that one of the clearest signs of his commitment as a father is the level of sacrifice he continues to make to ensure his daughter receives a quality education.

According to him, he has remained consistent in paying expensive school fees because he believes education will ultimately shape her future positively.

“Ndio maana nakupeleka shule ya bei kali. Ndio maana na ng’ang’ana na hiyo shule. I make sure nimelipa school fees. Na hiyo pesa ningefanya kitu kingine,” he said.

The televangelist used the moment to defend himself against criticism that often surrounds his parenting style, insisting he has never acted selfishly when it comes to taking care of his children.

“I’m not a selfish father. If I’m a selfish father, matendo yangu yangeonyesha. But I’m not,” he stated.

Kanyari revealed the value of the phone his daughter currently uses, using it as another example of the level of comfort and support he provides.

“Huyo mtoto ile simu anatumia, ni simu ya 160,000,” he revealed.

Although Kanyari did not go into full detail about the exact habits he believes his daughter is exhibiting, many social media users interpreted the statement as a father publicly warning his child against making life choices that could lead to harmful consequences.

Despite attracting criticism in different moments throughout his career, the pastor has consistently maintained that his primary focus remains building a secure future for his children.
