NAIROBI, Kenya – Content creator Pritty Vishy has revealed that she was married three times while still a teenager, opening up about a turbulent period of her life when she repeatedly left home and moved in with different partners.
Vishy made the latest disclosure during an episode of the A Gen Z Story podcast, where she spoke candidly about her past relationships and the circumstances that led her into the unions.
“I’ve been married thrice,” Vishy said during the conversation.
The revelation has renewed attention on an aspect of Vishy’s past that she has previously discussed, including during a 2023 interview with the Lynn Ngugi Show.
However, her latest comments have added a humorous detail to the account of one of the relationships: she said a man’s household possessions, including a large television and a gas cooker, impressed her at the time.
Vishy’s first experience came while she was still in Class Seven.
She previously explained that she had gone to see her then-boyfriend but returned home late. Her mother wanted to punish her for coming home late, prompting Vishy to run away and move in with the boyfriend.
“I was from seeing my then-boyfriend, I lost track of time and I got home a bit late, my mother wanted to punish me for being out late and so I ran away and moved in with the guy,” she said during the Lynn Ngugi interview.
Vishy said she subsequently dropped out of school and lived with the man before discovering that he was involved in criminal activities.
“After a few months, I went back home and I was taken to a boarding school,” she said.
Her second relationship came after another difficult experience at home.
Vishy said she met a man who offered her somewhere to stay while she waited for her mother to calm down. She was in Form One at the time and was about 17, according to her previous account.
“I met a random boy who gave me shelter until my mother calmed down and that’s how I got married again,” she said.
She later discovered that the man was already married and returned home.
During the latest A Gen Z Story conversation, Vishy gave a more light-hearted account of what attracted her to one of the men. She said the man’s home had a large television and a gas cooker, possessions that impressed her at the time.
Vishy connected some of the decisions she made during that period to difficult experiences at home and her desire for a better life. Vishy said she entered a third relationship while she was still in secondary school.
In her 2023 account, she said she moved in with another man after meeting him through a wedding.
“He was also married and I did not know. I was innocent,” Vishy said,in the interview.
She said a message from the man’s wife eventually alerted her to the situation.
Her relationship history later became a major part of her public profile following her highly publicised relationship with musician Stevo Simple Boy.
The pair’s relationship attracted significant attention online before they eventually separated, with Vishy subsequently establishing herself independently as a content creator and influencer.
