NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto has linked Kenya’s political future to divine will, assuring supporters of a peaceful and stable electoral process ahead of the next general election.
Speaking on Thursday, May 28, during the national prayer breakfast, the President framed his administration’s agenda as one of continued national transformation while expressing confidence in the country’s electoral trajectory.
“Just for your comfort, between now and the next elections we will drive the transformation of this country,” he stated.
Ruto went on to assure Kenyans that the next elections would proceed without unrest, insisting on calm and order throughout the electoral cycle.
“And we are going to have elections. and they will be peaceful and there will be no violence and they will be free and fair,” he assured Kenyans.
The President further emphasized his belief that the outcome of the election is ultimately beyond human control, attributing it to divine determination.
“What God has decided no man can change. Ile Mungu ameamua ndio itafanyika.”
He added that his own political fate, including the possibility of a second term, rests in God’s hands.
“Kama Mungu ameamua Ruto will get a second term, he will,” he said.
Ruto reiterated that whatever outcome emerges should be accepted as part of divine will, urging calm and national unity.
“kama Mungu ameamua vingine thats what will happen and we will move on as a country, so relax,” he said.
The remarks come as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the next election cycle, with questions over governance, succession politics, and national stability already gaining momentum.
