The B.A.G Grand Gala brought together Nairobi’s leading content creators, entertainers, business leaders and nightlife enthusiasts for a glamorous celebration marking the first anniversary of The B.A.G, one of Kenya’s fastest-growing entertainment collectives.
Held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Alloy Bar and Lounge in Westlands, the high-profile event marked the group’s 14th edition and served as both a celebration of its rapid growth and a showcase of Nairobi’s thriving nightlife culture.
The anniversary gala also introduced the first-ever B.A.G Awards, a fan-driven recognition platform designed to honor personalities, creators and entertainers who have shaped the city’s social scene over the past year.
Guests arrived dressed according to the night’s “Statement Royale” theme, transforming the upscale venue into a red-carpet spectacle of luxury fashion and creative expression.
The event highlighted how far The B.A.G has come since its launch a year ago. What began as an emerging entertainment movement has evolved into a major lifestyle brand known for curating premium nightlife experiences and building a loyal community of young professionals, creators and partygoers.
The evening featured a blend of awards, networking, music and live entertainment, creating an atmosphere that reflected the brand’s ambitions beyond traditional nightlife events.
One of the biggest talking points of the night was the debut performance by celebrated Kenyan DJ Shema. The respected deck master delivered a hip-hop and open-format set that quickly became one of the event’s defining moments.
Following the gala, organizers released the live recording under the title “The BAG Grand Gala Special By DJ Shema (Edition 14).” The mix achieved remarkable success, attracting one million views on YouTube within six days and emerging as one of the most talked-about DJ mixes across East and Central Africa.
While the music energized the crowd, the awards ceremony provided the emotional centerpiece of the evening.
The B.A.G Awards recognized standout personalities and cultural contributors selected through fan voting. The initiative allowed supporters of the brand to directly participate in honoring their favorite creators and nightlife figures.

Among the night’s notable winners was Claudia Ngure, who claimed the Best Outfit of the Year award after impressing voters with her fashion presence throughout the season.
Nicole Kanaiza received The Fave Award, recognizing her popularity and influence among followers of the entertainment collective.
Musician Okello Max earned recognition through his song “Taya,” which won the Song on Most Replay Value category, highlighting the track’s impact and continued popularity among fans.
DJ Mista C also emerged as a winner after securing the Transitions of the Year award, a category celebrating excellence behind the decks.
Several prominent personalities attended the gala, adding to the prestige surrounding the event.
Businessman Simon Kabu attended alongside his daughter Maurine Kabu and members of the Adequate Safaris team. The travel company partnered with the anniversary celebration as one of its corporate supporters.
Representatives from premium beverage brands and event partners also joined the festivities.
The event’s red carpet attracted a diverse mix of influencers, digital creators, musicians and nightlife personalities who used the occasion to celebrate the achievements of the growing entertainment platform.
Blaq Angela and Bridgetta served as official red-carpet hosts, interviewing guests and capturing fashion moments throughout the evening.
On the main stage, MC Cee Priest kept the audience engaged as the event’s emcee, while Mariah played a central role as the night’s “Mood Architect,” helping guide the flow of activities and presentations.
With a successful awards launch, a viral music performance and a strong turnout from key figures in Nairobi’s social scene, The B.A.G Grand Gala reinforced the collective’s position as a rising force within Kenya’s entertainment industry.
