Socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has emotionally opened up about the painful events that led to the end of her marriage with singer Brown Mauzo.

Speaking during an appearance on The Confidential Stories With Ciku Shire, Vera described a difficult period marked by emotional distress and police cases shortly after giving birth to her son.

The mother of two said one of the biggest reasons behind her decision to walk away from the marriage was her desire to ensure her children grew up in a healthy and peaceful environment.

“You want your kids to grow up in a happy environment, and when you’re not happy as a mom, it shows,” Vera said during the interview.

“It reflects on your kids. I don’t want my kids to grow up in a very traumatic environment.”

While trying not to disclose every detail publicly, Vera hinted at serious issues behind the scenes, saying people close to her knew the extent of what she endured during the marriage.

“The reason why I protected this story is because he’s the father of my kids,” she explained.

“But the people close to me know exactly what happened and what I really went through.”

The socialite went on to allege that she experienced situations involving police cases, missing travel documents and violence during the relationship.

“My passport disappeared with my visa, so many things,” she claimed.

“One thing was police cases and so many other things… violence and all that. This is just a lot.”

At several points during the interview, Vera became visibly emotional while recalling how the stress affected her during the postpartum period after welcoming her son.

“My son was like four months old, and I was trying to breastfeed and I had no milk because I was so stressed out,” she said tearfully.

“I had to introduce him to formula very early because that was the only way he would feed.”

According to Vera, the emotional pressure during that period left her unable to fully enjoy the early stages of motherhood the way she had hoped.

“When you’re stressed, it affects the milk production,” she said.

“And everything was happening at this time. I felt like maybe I didn’t show him so much attention and love because there was so much distraction.”

She added that the situation became so overwhelming that her parents had to step in and help her cope.

“My parents had to come because I needed extra help,” she shared.

Despite the painful experience, Vera said she does not regret the decision to end the marriage, insisting that leaving created a healthier environment for her children.

“There’s nothing that beats a happy home for kids,” she said.

“I would rather my kids grow up with a single parent but be happy than grow up in a broken, traumatizing environment.”

Vera further revealed that after leaving the relationship, several positive changes began happening in her life, which she interpreted as confirmation that she had made the right choice.

“When I made that move, a lot of beautiful things happened to me,” she said. “Doors opened up for me. God is always with you.”

She recalled one particularly difficult moment when she allegedly lost her passport and US visa shortly before scheduled work trips abroad.

“I had shows in the US and I was travelling the next week and I had no passport,” she said.

“Someone felt like they were going to disable me, but I came out victorious.”

Although Vera maintained that she has healed and grown from the experience, she admitted the ordeal deeply affected her perception of marriage.

“I feel like because I went through that stage, I always say I don’t ever want to get married,” she confessed.

Vera and Brown Mauzo share two children together and have continued co-parenting following their separation.
