NAIROBI, Kenya — Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) forensic investigator Christine Ombaka has received international recognition after winning the 2026 Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Global Public Sector Advocacy Award.
Ombaka was recognised for her contribution to public sector integrity, accountability and the fight against corruption.
The award also acknowledges her work in corruption investigations, forensic accounting and asset tracing, as well as her contribution to strengthening investigative systems and risk management within public institutions.
Recognised For Public Sector Integrity Work
According to the award citation, Ombaka’s work extends beyond corruption investigations to include efforts to strengthen professional standards and accountability in the public sector.
She was also recognised for promoting the accountancy profession and mentoring young professionals through her engagement with ACCA members, employers and students.
The ACCA judging panel further recognised her contribution to discussions on ethics, good governance and public accountability.
The recognition places Ombaka among professionals whose work has contributed to strengthening institutional integrity and accountability through specialised financial and investigative expertise.
EACC Applauds Investigator
EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud, who was represented at the ceremony by Director of Field Services and Coordination Jackson Mue, congratulated Ombaka on the award.
“Christine’s achievement demonstrates the value of professional expertise and commitment in advancing the Commission’s work. He said Ombaka’s achievement reflected the professionalism and dedication of EACC officers in carrying out the commission’s mandate.

ACCA Hails Achievement
ACCA Eastern Africa Chapter Head George Njar also congratulated Ombaka, describing the award as a significant moment for the accountancy profession.
Njar said the recognition demonstrated how professional expertise can contribute to strengthening integrity and accountability in public institutions.
Ombaka Dedicates Award To EACC
Ombaka thanked the EACC for the professional support she had received throughout her career.
