WASHINGTON, United States – DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua has met a Kenyan man whose striking resemblance to him has sent social media into a frenzy.
The light-hearted encounter happened on the sidelines of the Maa Community Cultural Evening in Washington State, where Gachagua met Cyrus Kinuthia, popularly known online as “RiggyG Junior.”
Kinuthia, who comes from the Kikuyu in Kiambu County, currently lives and works in Seattle, United States.
Photos and videos of the two standing together have sparked excitement online, with Kenyans debating just how closely they resemble each other.
From their facial features and smiles to their mannerisms, social media users have pointed out several similarities between Gachagua and his unexpected “twin.”
Gachagua joined the conversation by sharing details of their meeting and inviting Kenyans to deliver their verdict on the resemblance.
“Cyrus is a vibrant social media enthusiast, and many people believe we resemble each other,” Gachagua said.
“What do you think? Do we look alike?”
Kinuthia had already attracted attention on social media because of his resemblance to the DCP leader, earning himself the nickname “RiggyG Junior.”
Their face-to-face meeting gave Kenyans an opportunity to compare them side by side, triggering humorous reactions and playful comments across social media platforms.
Some users described them as twins separated at birth, while others joked that Kinuthia could easily step in as Gachagua’s double. The comparisons have turned the encounter into one of the lighter moments of Gachagua’s ongoing visit to the United States.
Gachagua appeared amused by the attention surrounding the meeting and wished Kinuthia well.
“I wish Cyrus all the best and God’s blessings,” he said.
The DCP leader met Kinuthia after attending the Maa cultural engagement, which brought together members of the Kenyan diaspora living in Washington State.
Gachagua has been holding meetings with Kenyans living in the US as part of his diaspora engagements, discussing political, economic and social issues affecting the country.
