Kenyan actress and content creator Foi Wambui has shut down pregnancy rumours that surfaced shortly after she returned from her honeymoon with husband Davis Githinji.
The speculation emerged as the newlywed resumed sharing snippets of her life following her wedding and honeymoon. Some followers appeared to interpret changes in her appearance, as a possible sign that she was expecting her first child.
Foi has now addressed the speculation, making it clear that she is not announcing a pregnancy.
Instead, the actress attributed her weight gain to what she described as “happy weight” and enjoying food during her honeymoon.
“Anyway, in the Lord’s will and timing, I hope that I’ll receive the blessing. Lakini… Yani, small small happy weight and honeymoon food baby inawafanya mnakuwa certified womb watchers? Ei. Pls behave. It’s 2026. I thought we don’t do this anymore?” she said.
The pregnancy speculation came at a notable point in Foi’s personal life. The actress recently transitioned into married life after celebrating her union with Davis through a series of wedding ceremonies.
The couple first held their traditional Kikuyu ruracio ceremony in July 2026, bringing their families together for the traditional proceedings. They followed the traditional ceremony with their white wedding on August 1, 2026, surrounded by family, friends and fellow creatives.
Foi and Davis had taken their relationship to the next level earlier in the year when he proposed during a trip to the Kenyan Coast. Foi announced the engagement in February, sharing her excitement with her followers.
“I had no idea in the world that I would be going to Coast as a girlfriend and coming back as a fiancée,” she wrote at the time.
Following the wedding, the couple went on honeymoon, with Foi later sharing glimpses of the new chapter with her social media audience. It was after her return that some followers began speculating about a possible pregnancy.
She explained that the physical change followers had noticed was simply the result of gaining some weight while enjoying herself during the honeymoon.
Foi also joked about the assumptions, referring to those speculating about her pregnancy as “certified womb watchers.” The actress questioned why people continued to assume that a woman’s weight gain automatically meant she was pregnant.
Her response effectively shut down the pregnancy speculation while also addressing the wider issue of people commenting on women’s bodies.
