NAIROBI, Kenya- The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) hosted a group of celebrated African artists in Nairobi ahead of the Africa Forward le Concert, the grand finale of the Africa Forward 2026 Summit set for May 12.
The artists began their experience at the Nairobi Safari Walk, where they were introduced to Kenya’s rich biodiversity in a controlled semi-wild environment before proceeding to a game drive at the Nairobi National Park, the only wildlife park located within a capital city.
The visit highlighted Kenya’s unique conservation model, where wildlife exists alongside an urban skyline, offering visiting artists a firsthand experience of the country’s natural heritage ahead of the major cultural event.
Among the artists hosted were Kenya’s Coster Ojwang, Uganda’s Jose Chameleone, Tanzania’s Abigail Chams, South Africa’s Nomcebo Zikode, Algeria’s Kader Japonais, Nigeria’s Yemi Alade, and France’s Vegedream.
The musicians are in Kenya for the Africa Forward Summit cultural finale, which brings together performers from across the continent and beyond in a celebration of African unity, creativity, and cultural exchange.
The Africa Forward initiative, which combines diplomacy, investment dialogue, and cultural showcases, is being held in Nairobi, positioning Kenya as a central hub for continental collaboration.
KWS said the tour was designed to promote Kenya’s tourism, wildlife conservation efforts, and the global significance of Nairobi National Park as a symbol of coexistence between nature and urban development.
The Africa Forward concert is expected to draw thousands of attendees and will feature live performances from leading African and international artists.
