Bensoul and Charisma to Headline Driftwood Sevens Entertainment in Mombasa

Kenyan musicians Bensoul and Charisma will headline the entertainment line-up at the 2026 Driftwood Sevens, bringing live music to Mombasa as the National Sevens Circuit returns to the coast.

The two-day tournament will take place on August 22 and 23, 2026, at Mombasa Sports Club, with organisers combining rugby action with live performances, DJs and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Driftwood Sevens will serve as the fourth leg of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit, with clubs battling for crucial points as the competition moves towards its final rounds.

The entertainment programme comes under the Tusker Na Rugby platform, which continues to combine rugby with music and fan experiences at National Sevens Circuit events.

Bensoul will take the stage on Saturday, August 22, leading the entertainment programme after a day of rugby action.

The singer will perform some of his popular songs, including Nairobi, Extra Pressure and Extravaganza, giving fans a chance to catch his live performance at the coastal tournament.

He will be supported by DJ Double Trouble, DJ Ramoz and Rattihy the DJ, while MC Claudia Naisabwa and Hypeman Salem will host the entertainment programme.

Bensoul’s appearance continues his growing association with Kenya’s rugby entertainment circuit.

Earlier this month, the singer performed at the Dala Sevens in Kisumu, where he headlined the entertainment programme alongside other performers.

On Sunday, August 23, Charisma will headline the entertainment programme as the tournament heads towards its conclusion. The musician will perform tracks including Sina Noma, True Love and Soft Life.

He will be joined by DJ Tophaz, DJ Issa and VJ Chris, while MC BM Shaxxy and Hype Mylez Montego will keep the crowd entertained.

The back-to-back performances give fans a different headline act on each day of the tournament, extending the Driftwood Sevens experience beyond the rugby pitch.

While the entertainment line-up is expected to attract music lovers, rugby remains the main attraction at Mombasa Sports Club.

KCB Rugby head into the fourth leg as the team to beat after winning the Prinsloo Sevens and Kabeberi Sevens legs. Their victories have placed them at the top of the National Sevens Circuit standings and given the club an early advantage in the race for the overall title.

The Driftwood Sevens will therefore provide KCB with another opportunity to strengthen their position while rival clubs attempt to close the gap.

The competition also comes at an important stage of the circuit, with teams having limited opportunities remaining to accumulate points before the season concludes.

This year’s Driftwood Sevens will also have an international dimension. The Uganda Emerging 7s will participate as the official international guest team, marking the return of a Ugandan side to the tournament after 13 years.

Their appearance adds an international contest to the weekend and gives Kenyan teams an opportunity to test themselves against opposition from across the border.

Tusker’s Na Rugby platform has played a major role in creating that atmosphere, linking rugby fixtures with music, DJs and fan entertainment. The approach has helped turn National Sevens Circuit weekends into broader lifestyle events, particularly for younger fans.

The National Sevens Circuit will continue into September after the Mombasa tournament.

The next stop will be the Embu Sevens on September 5–6, followed by the Christie Sevens on September 12–13, which will bring the circuit to a close.
