Bien-Aimé Baraza has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the 2026 Basketball Africa League Playoffs and Finals in Kigali, Rwanda.

The celebrated singer, popularly known as Bien, is scheduled to perform at the iconic BK Arena on May 22, 2026, during the opening phase of the BAL Finals Week festivities.

His appearance forms part of the league’s growing commitment to blending elite basketball with African music, culture, and entertainment, turning the BAL Finals into one of the continent’s biggest sports and lifestyle events.

The 2026 BAL Playoffs and Finals are set to run from May 22 to May 31 in Kigali, with thousands of basketball fans, celebrities, athletes, and entertainment figures expected to attend.

Bien’s inclusion in the BAL lineup marks another major milestone in the singer’s increasingly global solo journey following the success of Sauti Sol.

Since its launch, the Basketball Africa League (a partnership between the National Basketball Association and FIBA) has positioned itself as more than just a basketball competition.

The league has aggressively embraced music, fashion, celebrity culture, and youth entertainment to create a uniquely African sports experience.

Halftime performances, celebrity appearances, fan festivals, and cultural showcases have become central elements of BAL events, helping attract younger audiences and broader international attention.

This year’s finals week entertainment lineup reflects that strategy on an even larger scale.

Bien will not be the only major African artist performing during the BAL festivities.

Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Olamide has been confirmed as the headline act for the special “Party Next Door: BAL Edition” concert scheduled for May 30 at Zaria Court in Kigali.

The event is expected to become one of the social highlights of the finals week, attracting music lovers, athletes, influencers, and celebrities from across the continent.

Rising Tanzanian singer Abigail Chams is also scheduled to take over the official BAL halftime show on the tournament’s closing night on May 31.

Meanwhile, celebrated Bongo Flava star Harmonize has also been announced as part of the entertainment roster during the finals week activities.

Organizers have additionally confirmed that a major South African Amapiano artist will perform during the event, though more details regarding the specific performance schedule are still expected.

The BK Arena has increasingly become central to that vision, hosting concerts, sporting events, and international entertainment productions featuring African and global stars.

The BAL Finals are now among the arena’s flagship annual events.
