NAIROBI, Kenya- President William Ruto remains the country’s most preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election, according to the latest Infotrak Research survey, with a separate finding showing Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is also the leading choice to remain Ruto’s running mate.

The poll released on Monday places Ruto at 32 per cent, ahead of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at 13 per cent, while Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i are tied at 12 per cent each.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua follows with 4 per cent, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has 3 per cent, former Chief Justice David Maraga 2 per cent, while Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua polls 1 per cent. Another 1 per cent of respondents preferred other candidates.

According to Infotrak, the survey was conducted between June 22 and June 26, 2026, sampling 3,000 adult respondents across all 47 counties. It has a margin of error of ±1.79 per cent at a 95 per cent confidence level.

The survey also assessed public preferences for President Ruto’s running mate in 2027, with the Deputy President emerging as the clear favourite at 34 per cent.

He is followed by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga at 11 per cent and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga at 5 per cent, indicating that Kindiki remains the dominant choice among potential deputy presidential candidates within Ruto’s camp.

The findings suggest that while Ruto maintains a clear lead in the presidential race, the opposition vote remains fragmented among several potential challengers.
