NAIROBI, Kenya-Viral CCTV footage has revealed the moment two armed robbers stormed Chaiiwali Café in Nairobi’s Westlands area, robbing customers at gunpoint before fleeing on a waiting motorcycle.

The robbery, captured by the café’s surveillance cameras, unfolded in less than a minute on Saturday night. The restaurant is located along General Mathenge Road in Westlands.

The footage bears a timestamp of 22:35:09.

The video shows customers seated and engaged in conversation before the suspects, armed with a pistol, walk into the restaurant.

The first suspect was dressed in a white hooded jumper, a white marvin and black trousers. Moments after entering, he brandished and cocked his pistol, sending diners into panic.

As terrified customers scrambled for safety, some rushed into an inner room while others ducked behind furniture.

A second armed suspect, wearing a purple jacket, a cap and black trousers, then entered the restaurant and joined his accomplice in robbing patrons in a split second.

The two men moved swiftly from table to table, ordering customers to surrender their valuables.

They made away with several mobile phones and at least one laptop before fleeing.

CCTV footage shows the pair exiting the restaurant moments later and escaping on a waiting motorcycle, which sped off immediately after they boarded.

Although the footage contains no audio, one of the suspects is seen making movements that appear consistent with discharging a firearm.

However, Y News has not independently verified whether any shots were fired.

No injuries are visible in the footage, and it remains unclear whether anyone was wounded during the robbery.

The incident has sparked fresh concerns over violent crime in Nairobi, particularly following a series of robberies targeting businesses and members of the public.

The National Police Service has not issued an official statement on the robbery.

Authorities are expected to review the CCTV footage as part of efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
