TUKO Kadi voter registration in Kitale was briefly disrupted after an alleged attack by hired goons, according to claims made by Allan Ademba.
The incident, which reportedly occurred during an ongoing registration drive, caused temporary panic before residents intervened and forced the attackers to flee, allowing the exercise to resume shortly after.
In a statement shared online, Ademba claimed that individuals believed to be goons had been sent to interfere with the registration process.
“Tumetumiwa goons but Kitale residents wamewalemea na wakatoroka. Registration has resumed,” he stated, suggesting the situation was quickly contained by members of the public.
According to the account, local residents played a key role in restoring order. The alleged attackers were reportedly overwhelmed and chased away, preventing further disruption to the exercise.
Despite the incident, registration activities resumed, with officials continuing to process applicants.
The Tuko Kadi initiative has been attracting attention in various regions, with turnout in reflecting growing interest among eligible participants.
