NAIROBI, Kenya – The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has urged eligible Kenyans to take advantage of the final window of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR 2026), with only 14 days remaining before the exercise officially closes on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
In its latest update, the Commission emphasized that the ongoing registration drive is aimed at expanding democratic participation under the theme “Deepening Democracy in Kenya Through Inclusive Voter Registration.”
The Commission clarified that citizens are not required to travel to their home counties to register.
“The Commission has deployed open kits, which allow a citizen to register as a voter for any polling station in Kenya from the registration center near you,” the IEBC said, highlighting efforts to ease access and boost participation.
However, the exercise is currently suspended in areas with ongoing electoral disputes or scheduled by-elections.
These include Porro Ward, Endo Ward, Emurua Dikirr Constituency, Ol Kalou Constituency, Malava Constituency, and Mbeere North Constituency.
With the deadline fast approaching, the IEBC is intensifying its nationwide outreach, encouraging eligible voters to register early and avoid last-minute rush as Kenya prepares to strengthen its electoral roll ahead of future polls.
