NAIROBI, Kenya — A section of Waiyaki Way (A8 Road) between Kempinski and the Museum Hill Interchange will be partially closed on the Mombasa-bound lanes for one month to allow highway maintenance works.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said the temporary closure will take effect from Thursday, October 8, 2026, to Saturday, November 7, 2026.
The affected section is expected to experience changes in traffic flow as motorists navigate the unclosed portions of the highway during the maintenance period.
Motorists Advised To Use Alternative Routes
KeNHA has advised motorists using Waiyaki Way to consider alternative routes to minimise traffic disruption and allow the maintenance works to proceed.
Drivers have also been urged to follow the traffic management plan put in place for the works and cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals deployed along the affected section.
KeNHA said normal traffic operations will resume once the maintenance works are completed.
The notice was issued on October 1, 2026, by KeNHA Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli.
