X (Formerly Twitter) To Implement Private Likes to Enhance User Privacy

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- This week, X, formerly known as Twitter, has announced a significant change aimed at enhancing user privacy: Likes on posts will now be private for all users.

This move is part of a broader effort by the social media platform to protect user data and interactions.

Under the new system, users will still be able to see the posts they have liked, but others will no longer have access to this information.

This change means that while you can keep track of your own liked posts, your likes will not be visible to other users, ensuring greater privacy in your social media activity.

Furthermore, the like count and other metrics for your own posts will still be visible under notifications, allowing you to monitor engagement with your content. However, you will no longer be able to see who liked someone else’s post, adding an extra layer of privacy for all users.

Importantly, the author of a post will retain the ability to see who has liked their content. This adjustment maintains a degree of transparency for content creators while still prioritizing user privacy.
