Two Die in Crash Along Matuu–Mwingi Road

NAIROBI, Kenya- Two young men have died following a tragic road accident involving a motorcycle and a saloon car along the Matuu–Mwingi road near Kithyoko.

The crash occurred about one kilometre from Kithyoko town after a speeding car reportedly rammed into the motorcycle from behind.

How the fatal Kithyoko accident happened

Witnesses said the motorcycle was carrying four people at the time of the collision.

The rider died on the spot following the impact, while another male passenger later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Kithyoko Health Facility.

The accident caused panic among motorists and residents along the busy road.

Two female passengers rushed to hospital

Two women who were onboard the motorcycle sustained multiple injuries during the crash.

They were later transferred to Mwingi Hospital for specialised treatment.

Their condition was not immediately disclosed.

Driver arrested as investigations begin

Traffic officers from Nguutani Police Station visited the scene and launched investigations into the accident.

Police confirmed the driver of the saloon car was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in custody pending further investigations.

The latest crash adds to growing concerns over rising road accidents involving motorcycles on major highways across Kenya.
