NAIROBI, Kenya — The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced a new promotion granting 10 free entries for every 100 paying students visiting national parks, game reserves, and sanctuaries across the country.
In a notice issued Tuesday, KWS said the “Wild Scholars” offer applies to school trips and aims to promote local tourism while expanding wildlife learning opportunities for students.
The offer is valid for learners from nursery school to higher education institutions, including universities. Children under six years will be admitted free of charge.
“Enjoy the Wild Scholars offer: 10 free entries for every 100 students, and turn the last days of term into an unforgettable experience. Come, the wild is waiting,” KWS said.
The promotion runs from March 1 to June 30, 2026, with the agency urging schools to take advantage of the April holidays to organise educational visits to parks and reserves.
KWS noted that the incentive increases with group size, meaning institutions travelling with larger numbers of learners will benefit from more complimentary entries.
The agency has previously rolled out similar initiatives to boost domestic tourism. In September 2025, parks and reserves were opened to Kenyan citizens at no cost to mark World Tourism Day. In December 2025, KWS also introduced festive promotions offering free entries for selected visitors and discounted accommodation at park lodges.
On regular days, student entry fees typically range from about Sh200 for sanctuaries and most reserves to as high as Sh750 for premium parks such as Amboseli National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park.
