Sifuna Meets Bungoma Aspirants After Kitale Engagement

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is in Bungoma on Saturday to engage aspiring candidates as the Linda Mwananchi Movement continues its outreach ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The meeting follows a similar engagement in Trans Nzoia on Friday, where Governor George Natembeya hosted Sifuna and other movement leaders at his Milimani residence for talks with local aspirants.

Natembeya said the discussions focused on unity and building a common political front.

Sifuna’s Kitale visit was also marked by clashes between rival political supporters.

The National Police Service said two officers were injured and two government vehicles damaged during a disturbance on Friday.

Police said investigations were underway and called on political leaders and their supporters to exercise restraint.

The movement has adopted The Equitable Party as its political vehicle, while pursuing a rebrand under the Linda Mwananchi name.
