NAIROBI, Kenya – Linda Mwananchi Movement leader Edwin Sifuna has stepped up grassroots engagement in Western Kenya, meeting aspiring candidates in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties as the political outfit seeks to expand its support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The movement’s head of communication, Pauline Njoroge, said Sifuna began the day by engaging aspirants from Bungoma County before travelling to Trans Nzoia for a similar meeting.
“Leo programme inaenda mbio,” Njoroge said, describing a busy day for the movement’s leadership.
In an update, she said the movement was attracting more members, with additional aspirants expressing interest in contesting elective seats under its banner.
“The Linda Mwananchi Movement is growing fast, with more members joining and more aspirants stepping forward to fly our flag. We are getting ready for the ballot revolution!” Njoroge said.
The engagements signal an effort by the movement to build its network beyond Nairobi and strengthen ties with prospective candidates at the county level.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the meetings with aspirants could form part of the movement’s preparations to establish a broader political presence.
However, the number of aspirants involved and the specific seats they intend to contest were not disclosed in the update.
