NAIROBI, Kenya — Entrepreneur Sarah Mtalii has publicly endorsed her partner, lawyer Peter Mwenda Njagi who formally joined Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), signaling a strategic alignment ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In an enthusiastic message, Mtalii praised Njagi as a transformative leader, expressing confidence in his potential to represent Thika Town in Parliament.
She highlighted key proposals she says are part of his political manifesto, including upgrading Thika Level 5 Hospital’s maternity wing to world-class standards, promoting medical tourism, and introducing school feeding programmes.
“Wow congratulations my pillar of Strength! Watu wa Thika you are blessed to have him as your next MP,” Sarah Mtalii stated.
“Wamama mbele iko sawa. I am aware he plans to lobby and upgrade Thika Level 5 maternity win to world class standards and introduce medical tourism. Free lunch for learners iko kwa manifesto.”
Her remarks came shortly after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua formally welcomed Njagi into the party on April 20.
Njagi previously contested the Thika Town parliamentary seat in the 2022 elections on a Safina Party ticket.
His shift to DCP comes as the party positions itself for upcoming general elections, with Gachagua emphasizing a commitment to transparent and competitive party nominations.
“I have assured all aspirants that our primaries will be free and fair,” Gachagua said, noting that party membership registration will determine participation in the nomination process.
Sarah Mtalii, formerly known as Sarah Kabu and the Managing Director of Bonfire Adventures, and the lawyer publicly confirmed her relationship last year following her separation from businessman Simon Kabu.
Their romance first caught public attention during a getaway in Nanyuki, where Mtalii described Njagi as her “pillar of strength” and “number-one cheerleader,” a sentiment she has now echoed in support of his political aspirations.
