John Methu Celebrates 10kg Weight Loss After DCP’s Ol Kalou Campaigns

Date:

NYANDARUA, Kenya- Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Secretary-General and Nyandarua Senator John Methu has revealed that he lost 10 kilograms during the intense Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election campaigns, jokingly attributing the weight loss to the demanding political contest that ended in a landslide victory for his party.

Sharing the update on social media, Methu said he now weighs 72 kilograms, describing the grueling campaign period as physically demanding but ultimately rewarding.

The senator celebrated the milestone shortly after the DCP secured a decisive victory in the Ol Kalou by-election, where the party’s candidate, Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru, defeated United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Samuel Muchina Nyagah by a wide margin.

Official results showed Waweru garnered 35,440 votes against Nyagah’s 5,450 votes, handing DCP its first seat in the National Assembly.

Methu has been among the party’s key campaign strategists and was actively involved in the weeks-long campaign, alongside former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other DCP leaders.

The Ol Kalou victory has been widely viewed as a significant political boost for DCP ahead of the 2027 General Election, reinforcing the party’s growing influence in the Mt Kenya region.
