OL KALOU, Kenya — The Jubilee Party has officially concluded its internal nominations for the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, settling on Eng. Wilson Kigwa as its flagbearer after a streamlined selection process that ended without a contest.
In a press statement issued on May 12, 2026, the party confirmed that its internal consultations and nomination exercise had been completed following an invitation to aspirants from across the constituency to apply for consideration.
The party, led by Secretary General Hon. Moitalel Ole Kenta, said multiple aspirants had expressed interest in the ticket, but consultations and internal party mechanisms ultimately led to a consensus decision.
“The party received applications from several qualified and committed aspirants from across the constituency… and in consultation with the aspirants who qualified, the party has settled on Eng. Wilson Kigwa, who will now fly the party flag in the forthcoming by-election,” the statement read.
The announcement signals what the party termed “all systems go” for its campaign machinery in Ol Kalou Constituency, with Jubilee declaring itself fully mobilized for grassroots engagement ahead of the by-election.
According to the statement, the party has concluded preparations to deploy its leadership and support structures into the constituency in the coming days to campaign for Kigwa and promote its renewed political agenda.
“As a party, we wish to affirm that it is now all systems go for Jubilee in Ol Kalou,” the statement added.
The Jubilee Party, operating under the banner of “Mbele Pamoja,” said it remains committed to strengthening its political presence and reconnecting with voters through a message centered on development, unity, and accountable leadership.
The party also emphasized continuity in governance values, stating that it seeks to uphold the legacy of public service associated with its former leadership and parliamentary representation in the region.
“We do not take for granted the trust the people of Ol Kalou have continuously placed in our party,” the statement said, adding that it remains committed to service delivery and people-centered leadership.
Eng. Wilson Kigwa’s nomination now positions him as Jubilee’s sole candidate heading into the by-election race, effectively ending internal competition within the party for the constituency ticket.
The move is expected to allow the party to focus its efforts on mobilization and voter outreach as it seeks to retain or strengthen its influence in Nyandarua County politics.
Ol Kalou Constituency, located in central Kenya, has in recent years been a competitive political battleground, with parties seeking to consolidate grassroots support through targeted development promises and local leadership engagement.
The by-election is expected to draw multiple parties into the contest as political formations position themselves ahead of future national political realignments.
Jubilee’s decision to settle early on a single candidate is likely aimed at avoiding internal divisions and strengthening campaign cohesion as the race intensifies in the coming weeks.
