Victor Wanyama Lands Multi-Million Corporate Role After Football Retirement

Date:

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has officially begun a new chapter away from professional football after securing a corporate role as a brand ambassador for Kings Developers.

The former midfield powerhouse, who enjoyed a distinguished football career spanning Kenya, Europe and North America, is now using his influence to advocate for financial planning, investment and long-term wealth creation, particularly among athletes.

Wanyama’s appointment represents more than a traditional ambassadorial role. The football legend will help drive conversations around financial literacy and encourage sports professionals to think beyond active competition and prepare for life after retirement.

The initiative also seeks to cultivate what has been described as a “build Kenya, buy Kenya” mindset, encouraging local investment and strengthening awareness around wealth generation opportunities among both athletes and ordinary citizens.

Throughout his football journey, Wanyama built a reputation as one of Kenya’s most successful football exports. His career saw him rise from local football ranks to become one of Africa’s recognizable midfielders on the international stage.

He featured for clubs across different leagues and became one of Kenya’s most celebrated football figures while also serving as captain of the national team.

His leadership qualities both on and off the field earned him admiration from supporters and fellow players alike.

Beyond business, Wanyama has remained actively involved in football development and advocacy efforts.

Among his post-retirement achievements is his involvement with the FIFPRO Global Player Council, where he joined efforts aimed at shaping conversations around player welfare and the future of international football.

The former midfielder has also shown interest in remaining close to football through coaching and mentorship.

Wanyama is currently pursuing his UEFA coaching qualifications, a step that could eventually see him move into technical roles and contribute to nurturing future football talent.
